Flowering / Harvest:

Sowing and growing:

Sow indoors for a best results. Water well and place in a warm position in temperatures between 15-20°C. Keep soil/compost moist. Seedlings will begin to appear between 14-21 days. If grown indoors, allow plants to become accustomed to outdoor conditions to harden them off, avoiding frosts. When seedlings are big enough (approx. 6-8cm in height), plant out 20cm (8 inches) apart into well drained soil. Do not plant out seedlings until after last frost. For ease, direct sow outdoors April/May 1.5cm (1/2 inch) deep into fine/well-drained soil that has already been watered. Thin seedlings as required. Water well until plants are established.

Advice:

Remove dead heads to prolong flowering. Sow in large modules to establish good root systems before planting out. Seeds will keep until the following year if stored correctly, however the germination rate may fall. We always recommend that our customers seed save wherever possible.
